The long standing presence of the comboni missionaries in the Uk and Ireland can be traced from its history and communities.
Currently, while in the changed conditions the country's social and religious, the Comboni presence continues to pursue the goal of always, missionary awreness in all its dimensions to open the local society and Church to the mission ad gentes, together with the guarantee of a linguistic and logistical support to those part or preparing the mission.
A characteristic and always valid opportunity is the mission days in the diocese annually allocated by the Episcopal Conferences. The epistolary contact and organisation of "Open Days" continues to link up the Comboni Mission with the support of a wide circle of friends and benefactors. An important role in the mission and to know the Comboni family is held by the magazine "Comboni Mission" (19,000 copies) and by the missionary calendar printed in 50,000 copies.
A field that now absorbs new energies is the congregation's awareness of new issues such as justice, peace and integrity of creation and of solidarity with the countries and the churches of the southern hemisphere, as well as for immigrants and political refugees.
It's a different challenge, addressed in collaboration with ecclesial organisms and not with other ecumenical and religious organizations, through campaigns, "lobbying" and "networking".
